Many trips combine London with Paris, Amsterdam or a few other European cities. Here is how to choose the right eSIM.

UK plans cover the UK only

Our UK eSIM plans work in the United Kingdom — England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They do not work in France, Ireland or other European countries.

Europe plans can include the UK

Multi-country Europe plans cover many European countries with one eSIM, and many of them include the UK. Each plan page lists every country it covers, so check that every country on your route is on the list before you buy.

What changed after Brexit

Since the UK left the EU, the EU’s “roam like at home” rules no longer cover the UK. Depending on their carrier, travelers with EU SIM cards may pay roaming charges in the UK, and UK SIM cards may be charged in the EU. A travel eSIM with a prepaid plan avoids those surprises.

How to choose

  • UK only: pick a UK plan — usually the best value for UK-only trips.
  • UK plus one or two countries: compare a Europe plan with separate country plans.
  • Several European countries: a multi-country Europe plan that includes the UK is simplest.

IP location

Depending on the plan, data may be routed through the UK, France or the Netherlands. If you rely on a service that only works with a UK IP address, check the IP location on the plan page.

Frequently asked questions

Does the UK eSIM work in France or Ireland?

No. UK plans cover the United Kingdom only. Choose a multi-country Europe plan for trips that include other countries.

Do Europe eSIM plans include the UK?

Many do. Each plan page lists every country it covers, so check your whole route before buying.

Does EU roaming cover the UK?

Not since Brexit. Some EU carriers charge for roaming in the UK, which a prepaid travel eSIM avoids.
